Terms of service
Version 1 — in force since 30/07/2026
These terms govern access to the G-SMS service and its use. Creating an account constitutes full and unreserved acceptance. This English text is a translation provided for convenience: only the French version is binding.
1. Publisher and purpose
- The G-SMS service is published by [Legal name — to be completed], hereinafter “the publisher”, reachable at ggworldship@gmail.com.
- G-SMS is an application programming interface (API) for sending SMS to Cameroonian mobile numbers, together with a web management console.
- These terms apply to any natural or legal person holding an account, hereinafter “the customer”.
2. Account
- Creating an account requires a valid email address and a valid Cameroonian mobile number.
- The number is verified by a one-time code (OTP) sent by SMS; the account is only activated after this verification.
- Only one account is allowed per mobile number and per email address.
- The customer undertakes to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- The customer is responsible for the confidentiality of their password and of their API keys. Any request authenticated with a valid key is deemed to come from the customer; a compromised key must be revoked without delay from the console.
3. Description of the service
- G-SMS allows SMS to be sent on a prepaid basis to the four Cameroonian mobile operators (Orange, MTN, Camtel, Nexttel). Receiving SMS is excluded from the service by design.
- The sender displayed on the recipient's phone is the number of the sending SIM card. No custom sender name (sender ID) is offered.
- Messages are processed through an asynchronous queue: time may elapse between the acceptance of the request and the actual delivery, in particular during periods of heavy load.
- The delivery receipt (“delivered” status) depends on the operators and is provided on a best-effort basis: a message may remain in “sent” status without this affecting billing.
- A message that fails definitively, or that could not be sent within 24 hours, moves to failed status and its amount is automatically refunded in credits to the account.
4. Prices and credits
- The price of a message equals the rate of the recipient's operator multiplied by the number of segments of the message. The applicable rate and the number of segments are shown before sending and returned by the API.
- The rates in force are published on the Pricing page and may be changed; any change applies to the messages sent after its publication.
- A welcome bonus of 100 FCFA is credited once, when the account is activated.
- Credits may be used exclusively to pay for messages within the service. They are neither transferable between accounts nor refundable in cash, save for any contrary legal obligation.
- Every credit movement (bonus, top-up, charge, refund) is recorded in a history available from the console.
5. Acceptable use
- The following are prohibited: sending unsolicited messages (spam), any fraudulent manoeuvre or phishing attempt, any unlawful content, and any message amounting to harassment, threats or incitement to hatred.
- The customer warrants that they hold the prior consent of the recipients of their messages.
- Compliance with the applicable Cameroonian legislation, as well as with the rules of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board (ART) and of the mobile operators, is the sole responsibility of the customer.
- The customer indemnifies the publisher against any claim from third parties or from the regulator arising from the content or the recipients of their messages.
6. Quotas and suspension
- Use of the API is governed by a rate limit and, where applicable, by a daily quota, whose values may be adjusted in order to preserve the quality of the service.
- The publisher may suspend an account without notice in the event of a breach of these terms, in particular of the “Acceptable use” section, or of a threat to the integrity of the service.
- A suspended account keeps its credits and its history; sending is blocked until reactivation.
- The customer may request the closure of their account at any time by email.
7. Personal data
- The publisher processes only the data strictly necessary for the service: identity of the account (email, mobile number), metadata of the messages (recipient, operator, status, price) and billing entries.
- The text of the messages is kept for 90 days then purged automatically; the metadata and the accounting entries are kept beyond that period for billing and evidence purposes.
- The data of the customers and of their recipients is neither sold, rented nor transferred to third parties for commercial purposes. It is passed on only to the operators and technical providers strictly necessary to route the messages.
- The customer may request access to their data or its deletion by writing to ggworldship@gmail.com.
8. Availability and liability
- The service is provided with the best of the available means, with no contractual commitment as to availability or delivery time.
- The publisher cannot be held liable for interruptions, delays or failed deliveries attributable to the mobile operators, to third-party networks or to an event of force majeure.
- In any event, the liability of the publisher is limited to the amount of the credits held on the customer's account at the time of the triggering event. Indirect damages, loss of business and loss of opportunity are excluded.
9. Amendment of the terms
- These terms are versioned and dated. The publisher may amend them; the applicable version is the one published on this page at the time the message is sent.
- Continuing to use the service after a new version is published constitutes acceptance of that version. Failing agreement, the customer may stop using the service and request the closure of their account.
10. Governing law
- These terms are governed by Cameroonian law.
- Any dispute shall first be subject to an attempt at an amicable settlement; failing that, the competent Cameroonian courts shall be seized.
11. Contact
